About Me

My photo
Danimal
Hi, I'm Dan. I grew up on a farm in Delaware and am now living in rural Virginia. Married to a wonderful wife Natalia and have a lively beagle named Ronnie (aka Macaroni) and an increasingly spherical cat named Mr. Kot. I teach in the physics department at Roanoke College, a liberal arts college in Salem, VA. I like walking and doing yoga, and am on a quest to become proficient in the Russian language. My favorite areas of physics are thermal and computational physics. I've worked in modeling magnetic and colloidal systems in the past, am working in computational biophysics currently, and am beginning to explore data science and machine learning.
